Educational Programs for Children

Academic Tutoring | MW/TR | $10 for 8 weeks

Offered year-round, this program supports elementary school, middle school, and high school students in developing their reading and writing skills, developing reading & math support with ESL using standards align curriculum. Homework help is also available and a healthy snack is provided. Students may attend twice per week (MW or TR), for an hour each day (3:30 – 4:30pm or 4:30 – 5:30pm) during the school year.

Summer Camp | MW/TR | 9:00am – 1:00pm | $35 for 8 weeks

Our dedicated education team plans and runs our annual summer camp, an eight-week program filled with academic and physical activities for youth aged seven to eighteen. Guided by trained staff and joined by their peers, campers enjoy a variety of engaging experiences.
For thirty-five dollars, youth were able to participate in workshops, sports, field trips, and enjoy breakfast and lunch at ACC.

Health Programs for Children

Taekwondo| Mon & Wed | 6:00pm – 7:00pm | $10/month

This program is currently on pause. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that involves kicking and jumping, making it a fantastic form of aerobic exercise.

Mexican Folk Dance | Tues & Thurs | 6:00pm – 7:30pm | $10/month

This program is currently on pause - only beginner group is active. In this class, participants learn performance routines and practice dance moves that develop physical strength as well as aerobic fitness. Participants also learn about different regions and states in Mexico, as they learn dances from throughout the country. Participants perform at community and ACC events.

Programs for Adolescents

Youth Community Advisory Board/ Leadership Program | Ongoing | Free

The Youth Service Learning Project engages teens ages 14 through 18 in meaningful projects that benefit residents of North Aurora. In the summer, participants have the opportunity to assist with ACC’s summer camp for youth, while also learning about issues that face the local community. In addition to  participants will help design programming, facilitate programs and evaluate their results to ensure a high quality experience for local children. During the school year, participants volunteer in ACC’s tutoring program.
