Talking Circles is a structured support group for adults that integrates relational theory, resiliency practices, and skills training in a specific format designed to increase positive connection, personal and collective strengths, and competence in community members.
Talking Circles, also known as peace circles or therapy circles,  are historically an indigenous practice based on equality of the participants. The basic purpose of a talking circle is to create a safe, non-judgmental place where each participant has the opportunity to contribute difficult or important issues to the discussion. The purpose is to provide a safe place for connection and dialogue, by promoting an emotionally safe setting and structure within which participants can develop caring relationships and use authentic voices.
